Beeripmo Walk Beginners Pack Carry SUSPENDED

Expired

Distance: 21km

Walk Description

The Beeripmo walk was designed as a destination for those who want to experience an overnight hiking opportunity that is close to Melbourne without having to travel far afield.

You will experience walking in open forest through fern gullies over large granite rock outcrops with views of Langi Ghiran to the Grampians with opportunities to see wedge tail eagles.

The walk is limited to 12 people and will involve two days of walking over 21 kilometres with an overnight camp so you will need to carry all your own food, snacks, water and gear for a bushwalking weekend away.

Day One: Richards Campground via Raglan Falls, Cave Hill, the Sugarloaf to Beeripmo overnight camp 8km.

Day Two: Beeripmo Camp, Mt Buangor, Mugwump Hut, the Glut to Richards Campground 13km

Friday Camp Option: For those who can get away early or to make it easier for the Saturday there is a base camp option for the Friday night. As the town of Beaufort is close by a pub dinner can be enjoyed for that evening or just simply relax back at camp to cook your own if you prefer.

Booking is  required for this walk.  The Leader will confirm your acceptance onto the walk via an email.  A few days before the walk, the leader will organise car-pooling and provide details of where and when to meet.

It is expected that anyone undertaking an overnight walk has at least the experience and equipment necessary to comfortably complete a “medium” graded day walk.   If you are new to overnight camping, please refer to our Gear Checklist page or discuss with the leader.   Some equipment (eg tents, stoves) can be borrowed or shared provided you advise the leader of this when booking.  For harder-graded walks, the leader has the right not to accept bookings from anyone they consider is not sufficiently fit or experienced to undertake it, so please provide as much relevant information as you can when booking.

Booking Fee:

Please pay the leader CASH at the start of the walk, NO credit cards.

Passengers must pay the driver their share of car-pooling costs as described on the Car-pooling page. Please bring cash for this purpose.
