Club Night: Greenland summer trekking

Near 24 hour daylight during the summer months transforms Greenland from a dark frozen wilderness with temperatures as low as -40°C.  While the interior remains under a vast ice sheet (for now!), the rugged coastline thaws and a carpet of greenery and wildflowers adds colour to an arctic landscape of fjords, icebergs and glaciers.

This club night presentation by YHA Bushwalking’s Stephen Smith features photos from an 11 day trek in the spectacular Kulusuk alpine region of eastern Greenland.

Anyone is welcome to attend, no booking for Club night presentation is necessary, admission is free. However, an indication of numbers is helpful.

The presentation venue is at The Mission to Seafarers Victoria, 717 Flinders Street, Docklands. The presentation will commence at 7.30pm in the Celia Little Room, we will be in the room from 7pm.

If you want to meet earlier for dinner and/or drinks we will be at the nearby Wharf Hotel, from 6pm to 7.15pm.  The Wharf Hotel is five minutes walk from the presentation venue and is located by the river at WTC Wharf – Riverside (World Trade Centre), 18 – 38 Siddeley Street, Docklands.  We book a table under “YHA Bushwalking”. RSVP essential for dinner!
