Clubnight: Hiking in the Caucasus mountains, Georgia and in Armenia

Upcoming

The Caucasus Mountains is a mountain range at the intersection of Asia and Europe, spanning parts of Russia, Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Stretching between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, they are surrounded by the Caucasus region and are home to Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe at 5,642 metres (18,510 ft) above sea level.

Club member Jo Howard has recently travelled to Georgia and Armenia for some great hiking and is keen to tell us all about her experiences in a part of the world that we suspect few of us have visited.

Venue: East Melbourne Library Meeting Room, 122 George St, East Melbourne.

(8 minutes walk from West Richmond train station or 4 minutes walk from Jolimont Station. Alternatively take #48 0r 75 tram. Unrestricted street parking available after 6.30pm on the Fitzroy Gardens side of Clarendon Street and on Wellington Parade. Please check signage carefully).

.
Doors will open at 7pm for some refreshments prior to the presentation.
The presentation will start at 7.30pm sharp, so please ensure you arrive in plenty of time.
