The Tatra Mountains (pictured) are a series of mountains within the Western Carpathians that form a natural border between Slovakia and Poland. They are the highest mountains in the Carpathians.
At our club night in October 2024, we had a record club night attendance as club member Jo Howard entertained the group with tales of her adventures in the Caucasus Mountains. For our November club night this year, Jo is back with more stories of her hiking experiences, this time in Poland, Slovakia, Albania and Bulgaria!
Don’t expect any fears of kidnapping by Russian traffickers this time, but there will be plenty of highlights from her hikes in the Tatra Mountains, Accursed Mountains (Albania) and Veliko Tarnovo, the historical and spiritual capital of Bulgaria, often referred to as the “City of the Tsars”.
