Cathedral Ranges: Southern Circuit – Cooks Mill – Sugarloaf Saddle – Canyon Route to Sugarloaf – Farmyard – Jawbone track

Closed

Distance: 12 km, around 550 m elevation gain/descent

Walk Description

A classic adventure, the Cathedral range ascends dramatically from surrounding farmland out past Healesville.  This walk ascends gradually through forest, then steeply onto a razorback with great views.  This is a challenging walk, with confidence in scrambling and a head for heights essential.  Though there are no greatly exposed sections or ropes needed, experience with rough terrain is mandatory.  This walk will be cancelled if the forecast is poor.  We will likely be finished mid-afternoon.

Booking is  required for this walk.   The Leader will confirm your acceptance on the walk, or not, via email.  The leader will give some information to help you organise your own carpooling, and provide details of where and when to meet.
