Sydney and the Central Coast: Easter & Anzac Accommodated Trip
Closed
Trip Overview
Australia’s largest capital city does not feature highly as a hiking destination. However, it is certainly worth a visit, with beautiful beaches, fantastic food and wine, and some of the world’s most recognisable attractions. This trip will combine Sydney with an area we have not yet been to – the Central Coast of New South Wales.
You can do the entire trip, or only Part 1 or Part 2. Note that Part 1 has the ability for you to choose to arrive and leave when you like. However, Part 2 is a bit more limited, in that you have to pay the costs as stipulated by YHA Bushwalking which covers all of Part 2.
Part 1: SYDNEY
Thursday 17 April – Tuesday 22 April (Easter long weekend)
Part 1 involves a selection of day hikes in and around Sydney including some urban hikes in famous Sydney locations. Travel will be a mixture of bus, train, tram and taxi.
Part 2: CENTRAL COAST
Tuesday 22 April – Sunday 27 April (Anzac Day long weekend)
Part 2 involves a selection of day hikes further afield to the Central Coast, generally involving an hour or so of driving from our base in Gosford. We have hired mid-sized cars (such as Toyota Camrys) for part 2.
To obtain the detailed trip flyer, please contact the leader using the “Enquiry” button, below.
Accommodation
Part 1: SYDNEY
You need to book your own accommodation in Sydney. We suggest the Sydney Central YHA. however you can stay anywhere you like, but we recommend somewhere in the vicinity of the YHA. If you wish to share with others, please contact the leader using the Enquiry button below and the leader can put you in touch with those interested.
Part 2: CENTRAL COAST
We have booked two large share houses for Part 2 in Gosford. Each share house has multiple bedrooms and the usual facilities you would expect for a share house. There will be one or two persons per bedroom (mostly one). The accommodation cost is included in the trip price for part 2.
Once the accommodation booked by the club in Gosford is filled, we may offer additional places for part 2 to those who wish to book their own accommodation, however you will still need to pay your share of hire car costs for part 2.
