Looking to the future – all you need to know about Bushwalking in Sydney – Virtual Club Night 2 March 2021

Bushwalking guide author, Matt McClelland, will share some of the best walks in and around Sydney, involving:

  • public transport access
  • cafe’s partway
  • multiday walks
  • inn-to-inn walks amazing clifftop walks.

 

There will be something for everyone’s capabilities and interests – including inspiration for Easter and later holiday walks. Matt will provide links to track notes and maps for most of the walks.

Matt lives on the north side of Sydney with his wife and two kids. Matt started bushwalking as a senior scout then studied outdoor education, Leisure & Health as well as Education & Work. Over the last 10 years Matt has documented over 1000 bushwalking experiences including publishing 4 popular guide books (The Great North walk, Six Foot Track, Kosciuszko and the Central Coast), and the Overland Track app. Matt shares bushwalking information with over 1 million people each year mainly through his bushwalk.com and wildwalks.com websites as well as through the bi-monthly digital Bushwalk Australia magazine.

 

Matt also works for part of his week with the National Parks Association of NSW as the Bushwalking Manager supporting 150 volunteer leaders as they lead about 1000 walks each year. Over the past few years, Matt has developed and lead the Naturally Accessible project, to improve access for people with disability to bushwalking tracks through better information.

Anyone is welcome to attend, however as this is a virtual club night, please register so we can send you the zoom meeting invite. The Leader will confirm your participation  via email.
