Walk Description
Distance: 14.5 kms
Estimated Walk Duration: 5 hours
Tackle the rugged charm of the Brisbane Ranges on the Three Creeks Walk—a 14.5km Grade 4 circuit that offers a rewarding mix of history, scenery, and a solid workout. Starting from the Crossing Picnic Area, just a few kilometres west of the gold rush-era town of Steiglitz, this five-hour hike winds through shaded gullies, rocky creek beds, and open ridgelines.
We will follow the course of Grahams Creek along rough, rocky tracks before joining wider 4WD trails that pass Old Mill Camp and Friday’s Picnic Camp. With a few steady climbs and varied terrain underfoot, it’s a great trail for walkers seeking a bit of a challenge in a peaceful bush setting. The landscape here is classic Brisbane Ranges: dry forest, dramatic rock formations, and the chance to spot wallabies or echidnas if you’re lucky. A well-rounded walk for those who enjoy a mix of natural beauty and off-the-beaten-track adventure.
