Walk Description

Distance: 18km

The walk starts at Williamstown Beach, walking along the Esplanade with bay views. Through the Point Gellibrand Coastal Heritage Park with views across the bay. We will walk along Nelson Place through Williamstown taking the scenic bay route along The Strand.
Continuing the Riverside Park trail along the Yarra River past the Newport Power Station with city skyline in the background.

NOTE: We will take Westgate Punt cost $5 EFTPOS Only across the Yarra River to the city side.

Walking through the Westgate Park, having lunch near the saltwater lake. Then onto the Sandridge Lookout on the corner of Webb Dock. Walking along the Boulevard foreshore, finishing at Beacon Cove Light Rail Station at Port Melbourne.

You must bring your MYKI and a face mask for this walk as we will need to use public transport. Meeting point details will be provided to those who book in.

 

 

Transport

Make your own way to the walk location by public transport. Make sure you bring your MYKI and a face mask.

 

Booking

Booking is  required for this walk.   The Leader will confirm your acceptance on the walk, or not, via email.  The leader will provide details of where and when to meet.
If you need to cancel, please advise the leader as soon as possible, so that someone else has the opportunity.

Booking Fee:
Members: free.     Non-members: $7.

To avoid handling cash, non-members are required to pre-pay their booking fee.
Unless there are exceptional circumstances (e.g. you need to cancel because you are experiencing Covid-19 symptoms), there will be no refunds.
So please do not book unless you are fully committed to walking.
Payment by Paypal or card is the quickest method, but if you choose to pay by EFT please follow the instruction to email the Treasurer with your payment details.

 

 

What to bring

MYKI
• Face Mask
• Day pack
• Hand Sanitiser
• Sufficient water (2 litres, more on hot summer days)
• Lunch and snacks
• Hat, sun screen
• Suitable outdoor clothing (no jeans/sneakers!)
• Rainwear & warm jacket
• Proper walking shoes/boots
