Walking Since 1939

Yarra Bend Circuit Kew & Fairfield Boathouse

Expired

Walk Description

Distance: 15 km

We will start the walk from the Abbotsford convent. Firstly walking past the Collingwood Children’s Farm and then on a very rough narrow track, following the Yarra River passing viewing platform for Dights Falls, walking towards the Studley Park boathouse. We will find the flying foxes sleeping and if we are lucky we should encounter some rainbow-coloured rosellas along the way. We might hear some bell birds singing.

Walk will be walking along some rough narrow tracks along the Yarra River bank. The track is rocky and uneven so walking boots with high ankle protection is recommended.

Lunch break at Fairfield boathouse before heading back along the other side of the river. We will finish at the Abbotsford convent at about 3:00pm.

Booking is required for this walk. Once your booking has been approved, the leader will provide details of where and when to meet for those travelling by train and by car.
