Walk Description

We will walk from Upper Ferntree Gully to Belgrave via the Lyrebird Track and Sherbrooke Forest.

There are a couple of steep hills to climb, so you will need to have the fitness to cope with those. Otherwise, most of the trails are reasonably easy, although they can be muddy if there’s been recent rain.

Dinner afterwards somewhere in Belgrave.

You MUST bring your MYKI card for the train trip between Belgrave and Upper Ferntree Gully.

Booking is  required for this walk.   The Leader will confirm your acceptance on the walk, or not, via email.  The leader will organise car-pooling and provide details of where and when to meet.

What to bring:

• Day pack
• MYKI card
• Sufficient water (2 litres, more on hot summer days)
• Lunch and snacks
• Hat, sun screen
• Suitable outdoor clothing (no jeans/sneakers!)
• Rainwear & warm jacket
• Proper walking shoes/boots

Booking Fee:

Members: free.     Non-members:  $7.
Please pay the leader CASH at the start of the walk, NO credit cards.

Passengers must pay the driver their share of car-pooling costs as described on the Car-pooling page. Please bring cash for this purpose.
