Our History

Our  history starts with the foundation of YHA Victoria in 1939.

 

A decade by decade chronicle is provided in Yeti newsletters #44 to #50.

 

Together with the other YHA Australia activity groups in Victoria, YHA Cross Country Skiing  and YHA Cycling, we offer one of the most comprehensive outdoor adventure programmes of any club in Victoria. Visit YHA Australia for YHA travel and accommodation information.

 

Our Leaders

Our events are organised and conducted by volunteer, unpaid Leaders.  We have an experienced Leader group, and provide mentoring and training for new Leaders.  Leaders on 3 or more days of walking in a year are entitled to free Membership. Use Membership Request to join.

Our Committee operates in accordance with the Rules for the Conduct of YHA Bushwalking Victoria June 2019 agreed with our members and YHA Australia and our  Code of Conduct April 2022.
