Walking Since 1939

A Workshop on Walking using the Alexander Technique

Expired

David Moore is has been teaching the Alexander technique for the past 35 vears and he is also a yoga teacher. The Alexander technique is an approach to changing habitual patterns of posture and movement.

It is not uncommon for bushwalkers to suffer from foot, ankle, knee, hip or back problems which impacts on their enjoyment of, and even their ability to walk. These issues are commonly a result of dysfunctional walking patterns or of a failure of an injury to heal because a habitual postural and movement pattern is putting continuing pressure on the injured area.

In this session we will looking your underlying postural “neutral” state and at your walking. We may also look at running. We will identify dysfunctional patterns which may lead to eventual or even present injury and find ways of altering those patterns.
