Bush Search and Rescue Victoria ( https://www.bsar.org/ )is a dedicated volunteer search and rescue service in the state of Victoria, Australia. BSAR participate in land-based search and rescue for persons lost in bush and alpine areas under the direction of the Victoria Police.

Booking is required for this walk.

People with previous pack-carry skills and equipment will be allowed to book. Please contact me first via email (walks001@outlook.com.au) or using the Enquiry button below, if you have any questions.

I will confirm your acceptance for training, or not, via email. 

BSAR will provide further details of where and when to meet.

Trip Overview

This year BSAR’s annual training weekend will be held on June 4-5 in the Fryers Range, near Castlemaine.

The weekend is open to all BSAR members and other experienced bushwalkers interested in search and rescue training. On the weekend we will be joining the Victorian Rogaining Association for a rogaine on Saturday followed by SAR-specific workshops on the Sunday.

Transport will be provided and a detailed program will be sent to all registered participants. A further email with a link to the application form will come out in late April.

If you know someone interested in joining BSAR who would like to attend and they meet the requirements for BSAR membership please also encourage them to attend.

  • You should not be attending this walk if you are required to be in quarantine or isolation.
  • If you have any Covid-19 symptoms, you should get tested and follow the instructions in the Coronavirus Victoria website.

• All the equipment, clothing, food and water you will need for the walks and overnight stays.
