Walk Description

Distance: 20km

Baw Baw Village, Mt Baw Baw, Mt St Phillack, Mustering Flat and Mt St Gwinea.
Enjoy a beautiful walking walking weekend amongst the snow gums on the Baw Baw Plateau. Heading out from Baw Baw Alpine Village we will visit Mt Baw Baw, Mt St Phillack on the Australian Alpine Walking Trail with a side trip out to Mt St Gwinear and return the same way.
Spectacular year round, Baw Baw National Park covers a substantial part of the Baw Baw Plateau. As the snow melts see the hills come alive with vivid wildflower displays. Explore the wonderland of geological formations and walk one of the many trails that criss-cross through tangled snowgum forests.
As this walk is in an alpine area you will need to make sure you are prepared for sudden weather changes. So you will need good water proof outerwear with warm clothing and a sleeping bag for the evening.
