This trip will explore the hinterland of the Great Otway National Park from an accommodated base in Forrest.
Our accommodation consists of two cottages side by side in the main street of the township. Various bedroom layouts, but no bunk and maximum two people per bedroom. One bathroom per cottage, maximum 5 people per cottage. While every effort will be made to have only one gender per bedroom (no guarantee), there is a very high chance that the cottage as a whole will be mixed.
Itinerary and Walk Descriptions
No need for vehicles on Saturday as we will walk from the accommodation to the West Barwon Dam and Lake Elizabeth. Approx 16km loop, undulating.
On Sunday, we will walk the Monday Creek Circuit, a 12km loop with 390 ascent, then return to Melbourne.
Walks will start promptly at 8.30am. There is no opportunity to purchase food in Forrest so make sure you bring your own food.
Optional dinner at own cost at the Forrest Brewing Company on Saturday night.
Transport to and from the walk location is by car. Please indicate your transport requirements and preferences on the booking request form when you book in.
If you don’t have a car, we can’t guarantee to provide you with a lift – this will depend on available drivers and their locations.
Drivers can choose whether they wish to take passengers or not.
Passengers must pay the driver their share of car-pooling costs as described on the Car-pooling page. Please discuss the preferred method of payment with your driver.
